I have whiplash from this book. Interesting in some parts but none of the characters are really likeable and I really got to the point where I was just wishing the book is done. But I guess the story is meant to be unsettling.

Not very well written and felt like it could be better edited. Some stuff was interesting but basically the takeaway was - Queen was great, her mothering maybe less so cos her 2 eldest boys are nothing like her.

(But let’s suggest maybe her DAUGHTER is the only child who comports herself anywhere close like her mother)

The starting was slow and Haymitch does seem to drone on but it got really exciting once in the arena (which begins in later half of the book) and then everything moved super fast. I liked this book, but it has steep competition from all the Hunger Games books before.
