Orreadi is a portmanteau of the Singaporean English ('Singlish') word 'orreddi' and 'read'. The word 'orreddi' is itself the Singlish (mis)pronunciation of the word "already". Orreadi therefore helps you track all the books you orreadi read and get ideas for what to read next based on what your friends have orreadi read.
Orreadi is hosted and administered in Singapore and welcomes users from across the world. Registration is currently open only on an invite basis. This helps us scale our server resources and moderation efforts appropriately.
If you've come from Goodreads or Librarything, yes, Orreadi is a lot like those platforms in that it is in essence a book social network and recommendation site. The difference is that Orreadi runs on open source software called BookWyrm and is a part of the Fediverse. You can seamlessly follow and interact with users on other BookWyrm instances, and on other Fediverse services like Mastodon and Pixelfed.
