the book starts off slow, which made it kind of hard to empathise with the grief of the characters, but engages you as you go on. I thought the revelations and ending were well thought out. it is an unusual book for its genre (kind of YA, but with gritty adult subject & themes), but a good book about complicated female characters and relationships.
